Job description

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join their finance team.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about maintaining strong financial controls, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting.

This role is based in Paarl, Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your core duties will include:

• Managing the full accounting function up to trial balance.
• Processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
• Handling customer credit applications and debtor management.
• Managing payroll transactions and the related reconciliations.
• Preparing and submitting statutory returns and payments.
• Daily cash flow planning and monitoring.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closings, including management accounts.
• Maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Performing inter-company reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis initiatives.
• Overseeing stock management and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Assisting with audits and various ad hoc accounting projects.

Requirements:

• BCom Accounting.
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
• Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
