Sunsail and The Moorings is an exciting and dynamic Yacht charter and Yacht Sales business, operating a global fleet of over 600 yachts across 18 bases in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, and Pacific, selling to the worldwide market. We also exclusively sell the Leopard brand of catamarans. With over 50 years of experience, we are the industry leaders in premium yacht charter. The business is part of Travelopia Group, which is the world’s largest provider of specialist and experiential travel with a range of unique experiences, from private jets, polar expeditions, cycling holidays, and more.


We are looking to hire a Financial Accountant to join our team! Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Med, Exotics & Projects, you’ll be responsible to provide financial and commercial insight to support effective decision making in the Croatian charter bases (Agana and Dubrovnik). This will include review and preparation of historical and forecast financial results, analysis and presentation of financial and operational data and the monitoring of KPIs.


This is a key role in the finance team and the successful candidate will be technically strong, skilled in data analysis, pro-active, and able to work independently. The role will also involve building strong relationships with the operational and finance teams across the Croatian bases. We are looking for a qualified accountant with a desire to learn and adapt quickly to the financial control requirements of a global business. You will be responsible for ensuring a high level of accounting accuracy and financial control in a fast-paced and operational business.

What You’ll Do

  • Review monthly Base results, investigate areas of overspending, and produce variance analysis including commentary.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all balances are backed up with relevant documentation, investigating discrepancies, and highlighting potential risks & contingencies.
  • Assist with monthly forecasts, annual budget, and 3-year plan for Croatian bases.
  • Provide analysis and insight for yacht maintenance costs – identifying trends in the spending across different yacht types, ages, and location.
  • Business partner with the Base Managers and Operations Managers across the Croatian bases you are responsible for to drive insight.
  • Identify areas for development and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Assist with the annual audit when required.
  • Undertaking any other duties and projects identified by the Finance Business Partner.
  • Building, maintaining, and developing key relationships with different teams and stakeholders (Business Partner, Financial Planning and Analysis Team, Croatian Base teams and Managers, Treasury team & Wider financial control team).

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in business partnering and accounting.
  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA part qualified or finalist.
  • Experience working in international and multi-currency transactions.
  • Attention to detail, highly analytical, and the ability to identify data patterns.
  • Strong Excel skills (i.e. V-lookup, Index/Match, pivot tables, and pivot charts).
  • Experience with SAP an advantage.
  • Experience within the hospitality industry would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and manage various projects at once, and ability to work under own initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in explaining finance information to non-financial colleagues.
