Job Title: Financial Accountant: Corporate Services

Location: Gauteng, Roodepoort

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven, highly motivated, and experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance department. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional eager to advance their career within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will ensure strong accounting practices in compliance with relevant standards and reporting requirements across the group, including assisting with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports to shareholders, and the preparation and review of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, budget, and annual CBC format ('CBC results pack').
  2. Review monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
  3. Coordinate income statement variance analysis with operational and finance departments.
  4. Assist in the preparation of reports ('MOR report') for EXCO and Board Meetings.
  5. Ensure timely preparation of CBC format pack and respond to shareholder queries.
  6. Maintain and review general ledger reconciliations monthly.
  7. Process financial journals as requested by Group Finance Managers.
  8. Manage monthly Head Office cost analysis and reporting.
  9. Support quarterly and annual reporting processes, including preparing CBC format packs and financial statements.
  10. Participate in external audits and assist in resolving audit queries.
  11. Assist with annual budgeting, including preparing budget principles, presentations, and managing the process.
  12. Manage staff performance, training, and development, ensuring positive morale and teamwork.
  13. Contribute to updating internal accounting policies and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Relevant university qualification and experience in applying related concepts and processes.
  • Experience working with senior management.
  • Professional registration.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • People management experience.
  • Fluent in Business English.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous.
