Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries and lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Capitalize and manage intangible assets, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
  • Oversee vendor management, including payments, reconciliations, and contract compliance.
  • Leverage outsourced accounting for transactional processing to focus on process improvements and high-impact initiatives.
  • Prepare management reports, provide financial insights, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings.
  • Assist with annual audit.
  • Provide team support as required.

OVERALL PURPOSE

We're looking for a newly qualified CA(SA) to join Lula as a Financial Accountant. The Financial Accountant ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in a fast-paced fintech environment. This role manages day-to-day accounting, period-end close, intangible asset capitalization, and vendor management, including payments, contracts, and reconciliations.

By leveraging outsourced accounting services for transactional processing, the Financial Accountant can focus on driving process improvements, automation, and strategic initiatives that deliver meaningful impact. Through providing actionable financial insights, this role supports decision-making and enables the business to scale efficiently with transparency and integrity.

The individual will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with the existing Financial Accountant, FP&A team, and Finance Manager, gaining exposure to broader finance functions and best practices.
