Job Description

The Financial Accountant's role is to support financial decision-making by collecting, analyzing, investigating, reconciling, and reporting financial data, collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare monthly standard journals
  2. Assist with monthly HFM reporting as required
  3. Perform general ledger reconciliations and analyze reconciling items; identify long and unusual items and take appropriate action
  4. Analyze and interpret data to provide financial management information for decision-making
  5. Prepare monthly statements by collecting data, analyzing variances, and summarizing data, information, and trends
  6. Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data
  7. Verify supporting documentation for validity, accuracy, and completeness; record transactions on the accounting system
  8. Manage interface exceptions and ensure timely actions
  9. Reconcile and review inter-company transactions
  10. Ensure compliance with departmental and company processes and procedures
  11. Assist with intercompany reconciliations, payments, payroll recons, and journals
  12. Assist with monthly and year-end closure processes
  13. Support internal and external audits
  14. Participate in ad hoc accounting projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably working with African entities.
