Job summary

Overview

Financial Accountant Tygervalley Bellville Cape Town

We are looking for a meticulous and results-oriented Financial Accountant to prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. Must have Forex experience.

Salary: Up to R 60 000 pm plus bonus - Market related

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
• Must have Forex experience
• Assisting with Treasury functions
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics BC 365, Sage Accounting, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Reconcile accounts, monitor general ledger entries, and resolve discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting processes
• Assisting with Treasury functions, foreign exposures to minimise forex risk
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure timely submission of tax filings and regulatory reports
