Qualifications

Responsibilities

A market-leading ERP software provider is looking for an experienced, driven Financial Accountant to join their team during an exciting phase of growth and innovation. This is a permanent, full-time role based in the Vereeniging offices with working hours from 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday with some microflexibility.

In this role, you will oversee full-function accounting, secretarial, and compliance duties while taking on a key leadership function-managing a team of 4-5 admin and finance personnel (including the Bookkeeper, HR Officer, and Admin Assistants).

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of 4-5 finance, HR, and admin staff.
  
• Accounting & Financial Management: Monthly bookkeeping, management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, general ledger, and full annual audit preparation/coordination. Perform financial analysis to optimise profitability, pricing, and cost structures.
  
• Taxation & Compliance: Registrations, submissions, and SARS queries (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, Provisional, and Income Tax; EMP501 and IRP5 reconciliations).
  
• Company Secretarial: Manage CIPC submissions, annual returns, board meeting minutes, share registers, and company details.
  
• Banking & Debtors: Manage online banking, cash flow, credit lines, payment requisitions, debtor collections, and client credit vetting.
  

Requirements

• Education: Tertiary accounting qualification (e.g., BCom, BAcc).
  
• Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of post-articles or senior finance experience. Experience in a software/IT firm is a strong advantage.
  
• Accounting Systems: Experience with Sage Evolution or Xero is advantageous (the business plans to migrate to Xero, so setup and workflow implementation experience is ideal).
  
• Leadership & Drive: A self-starter who can implement robust workflows, lead a team, and work autonomously in an energetic, growth-minded environment.
  
• Languages: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
