What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Regional Controller, a Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, maintaining financial records, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and working closely with other departments to ensure financial integrity across the organization.

This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls, and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment to contribute to the overall financial health of the company.

List Of Key Responsibilities Include

  • Prepare and review the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Review bank reconciliations and other critical reconciliations as part of month-end close.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Ensure any audit findings are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Support group-related projects.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., AGA(SA), SAIPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with accounting software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English.
