Job description

This is an exciting role for a newly qualified CA(SA) based in Stellenbosch in the Financial Services industry! This is a lifetime opportunity to learn in this dynamic environment with little red tape that offers you lots of exposure to executives and the freedom to contribute to the team on various projects.

Responsibilities :
  1. Support financial management of the business by producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets and revenue and expenses forecasts, and ad hoc reporting of financial trends.
  2. Ensure integrity of financial results through variance analysis and error finding on income statements and balance sheets at the entity level.
  3. Conduct financial analysis of business unit earnings and expenses (burn rate).
  4. Consolidate financial information as requested for corporate reporting, providing insights into high-level movements.
  5. Enable data-driven decision-making through real-time performance analysis and reporting.
  6. Handle statutory reporting and management reporting as required.
  7. Contribute to Profit and Loss identification and strategy development.
  8. Manage accounting tools, including regular data input and dashboard review.
  9. Prepare debtor reports, focusing on net profitability of clients, working capital management, and other capital allocation KPIs.
  10. Assist with claims reporting.
  11. Manage daily accounts payable and bank payments.
Requirements :
  • Newly or nearly qualified CA(SA).
  • Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  • Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and profitability analysis.
  • Experience with accounting software (input and output), with Sage Evolution and Sage Intacct experience highly advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills; some programming knowledge is a plus.
  • Financial services experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on operational approach.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex issues clearly.
  • Ability to interact professionally with senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
