Minimum requirements:

1. Accounting Degree or Diploma – preferably SAIPA.
2. 2-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting position.
3. Advanced Excel skills are critical, with a willingness to learn very quickly in this area.
4. Knowledge of Pastel will be an advantage.
5. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Flexibility to work a flexible schedule.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Processing of monthly sales, purchases, stock write-offs, coupons, and other relevant data from the point-of-sale system to the accounting system.
2. Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Review of income statement accounts.
4. Processing of local and international ad-hoc payments as required.
5. Preparation and balancing of any intercompany loan balances before monthly management review meetings.
6. Preparing retail VAT submissions every month.
7. Engaging with the retail finance manager regarding the review of income and balance sheet accounts.
8. Managing retail petty cash reconciliation.
