Be part of the team shaping the future of sustainable logistics!

We’re a rapidly growing electric vehicle start-up based in Pretoria, leading the way in green, efficient logistics solutions for businesses across South Africa. As the first to market, we’re making it easy for fleets to switch to electric—helping drive real change in a fast-evolving industry.

We’re looking for a full-time “A team” Financial Accountant to strengthen our finance operations, support good governance, and drive operational efficiencies. This role involves more than just closing books—you’ll work closely with leadership and play a key role in building systems that support our growth.

We offer a flexible, trust-based work culture, with options to work from home and manage your time effectively. We’re a high-performing, collaborative, down-to-earth team that values connection—whether over lunch, celebrating wins, or solving complex challenges together.

If you’re seeking meaningful work in a mission-led company with big ambitions, we’d love to meet you.

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Super Financial Accountant who takes pride in accuracy, is proactive, manages time well, communicates effectively (internally and externally), and enjoys accounting, organizing chaos, and implementing solutions.

If you thrive on solving new challenges and want to go beyond month-end reporting, this is your chance to join a lean, high-performing team where excellence and initiative are celebrated.

This is an end-to-end finance role, offering exposure to all aspects of the business. You will work alongside and learn from the management team, take full ownership of the accounting function, and implement procedures and efficiencies as needed. Your systems will shape our growth.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • BCom Accounting (non-negotiable)
  • 3 years SAIPA or SAICA completed articles or 4 years accounting experience
  • Xero proficiency (strongly preferred)
  • Strong inventory management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the automotive industry/imports sector is advantageous
  • Strong IFRS and VAT knowledge
  • Detail-oriented, ownership-driven, proactive

What We're Looking For:

We want someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can bring structure and initiative to the role. Specifically, you should:

  • Be detail-oriented, action-driven, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Be curious, eager to learn, resourceful, and solve problems independently
  • Bring order to unstructured environments and know when to establish processes
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and persistent when facing challenges

What you’ll do:

  • Transaction Processing: Record all financial transactions accurately in Xero.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of bank and cash accounts.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage supplier invoices, customer collections, and payments.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and IFRS-compliant reports.
  • VAT & Compliance: Prepare and file VAT and tax returns, maintain records, and assist with tax calculations.
  • General Ledger & Intercompany: Maintain the general ledger and manage intercompany reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Expense Management: Track, categorize, and report expenses.
  • Imports Accounting: Manage import financials, including duties and taxes.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock counts, adjustments, and valuations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support budget prep and variance analysis.
  • External Audits: Prepare for and manage audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends and inform decisions.
  • Systems & Processes: Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Payroll: Prepare payroll inputs, reconciliations, and SARS submissions.
  • General Admin: Assist with procurement, event coordination, and ad hoc admin tasks.
