Financial Accountant

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Pretoria East.

POSITION INFO :

The ideal candidate should have a strong commercial background and be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

This position will require a proactive individual with a strong understanding of finance regulations and commercial accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Manage and monitor all accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and legislation.
• Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control, budget planning, and revenue forecasting.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure accurate tax submissions.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business goals.
• Provide financial insights to support commercial decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
