Job description

A well-established organisation in the manufacturing sector is looking for a meticulous and deadline-driven Financial Accountant to support operations across two sites: Ogies and Leslie. This role reports into the Financial Manager and will play a key part in driving accurate reporting, compliance, and performance tracking for both locations.

The ideal candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, with strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and variance analysis against budgets and targets
  • Support root cause analysis and action plans on performance deviations
  • Review, validate and report actual results to Head Office, including commentary and proposed actions
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, relevant legislation, and internal company policies
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, journals, and fixed asset registers
  • Oversee VAT allocation, capital expenditure tracking, and consumables reporting
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end audit files and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support internal functional audits and ensure sign-off by senior management
  • Oversee creditor account creation and ensure policy compliance
  • Process customer returns, credit notes, and accruals for goods and services

Minimum Requirements:

  • B Compt with completed articles, plus at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of financial processes, internal controls, and statutory compliance
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability with a structured and logical approach
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Commercially astute with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders
