Financial Accountant

Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Finance and daily administration of the Finance team/department to prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual Management Reports and Pack timeously.

Responsibilities include:

1. Weekly reviewing of bank statements and petty cash (including reconciliation and control)
2. Preparing weekly cashflow forecast based on weekly business register
3. Reviewing weekly revenue processing (Debtors) and ensuring that invoices have been accounted in line with the Commission Reports
4. Reviewing bi-monthly payments and reconciliations (Creditors), balancing and signing off monthly Creditors' aging
5. Monthly posting, reconciling and reviewing of Payroll Journals and other Payroll Accounting transactions
6. Monthly reconciliation of all Payroll liability accounts for international entities
7. Monthly reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts (Balance Sheet)
8. Being responsible for the finalisation of monthly processing and completion of Management Packs
9. Preparing Management Accounts, responding to queries from Group Financial Manager
10. Assisting the Financial Manager with Projects
11. Assisting the Financial Manager with Audit Related Matters
12. Assisting with Annual Budgets

Requirements:

1. Matric
2. B.Com/B.Compt degree in Finance
3. Related Postgraduate qualification will be an advantage
4. 5 years + experience as a Financial Accountant in a multi-entity environment
5. Deep understanding of intercompany balances and transactions
6. Ability to take the Accounts to Trial Balance, draft Balance Sheet and Income Statement
7. Accounting software knowledge and experience (Sage)
8. Extensive knowledge of Cash Flow forecasting, Debtors and Creditors
9. A good working understanding of Consolidations
10. Drafting of Income statement/ Balance sheet
11. Interpret and read financial statements
12. Analytical and Intuitive
13. Understanding IFRS
14. Financial Service industry experience will be an advantage
15. Computer literate (includes Excel Advanced)
