An exciting opportunity exists for a Factory Financial Accountant at NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED Isando, Biscuits Factory. The role is an integral part of the Finance function, providing support to the Finance Manager, Cost Accountant, Finance Team, and Site Management. The incumbent should be detail-oriented, able to analyze data, reconcile, and report (daily, weekly, and monthly).

Reporting Structure

Key Areas Of Impact

• Cost Accounting
  • Compare & report on standard labour hours planned vs actual
  • Assist Cost Accountant with standard cost sets based on procurement parameters
  • Review, investigate, and post process variances
  • Assist with annual Activity Based Costing budgets
• SAP Processes
  • Oversee and assist with Production Manual Confirmations on SAP & check error reports (COGI)
  • Sundry Invoicing and Credit Notes
  • Review daily GL Accounts Budget vs. investigate variances
  • Assist with Requisition Processing of Monthly Commitments
• Financial Accounting
  • Assist Financial Manager in Internal and External Audit Review
  • Process Sundry Customer Invoices and analyze Sundry Debtors
  • Ensure all expenses are processed before month-end; process provisional journals for expenses incurred but not receipted
  • Prepare monthly Financial Journals
  • Review Cost Report transactions and report on Budget vs. Actual
• Financial Reporting
  • Review Cost Report transactions and report on Budget vs. Actual
  • Report on irregular variances after investigation
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reports
  • Contribute to Yearly Budget and Forecast compilation
  • Maintain and report on fixed asset register monthly
  • Manage CAPEX workflows for asset acquisitions, transfers, or disposals
• Asset Management
  • Regular audit of Fixed Assets for accuracy
  • Maintain Site Fixed Asset Register
  • Coordinate Asset Verifications (Half Yearly & Year End)
  • Assist with Stock Counts and Reconciliations
• Stock Management
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to Cost Accountant

What It Takes To Succeed

Experience:

• 4 – 8 years of Accounting / Bookkeeping experience
• SAP knowledge is advantageous

Qualifications & Certifications:

• BCom Degree / National Diploma in Finance
