Job summary

FZ and Associates is seeking a qualified accountant to join our Johannesburg team. You will prepare financial statements and management accounts using Caseware, Sage Pastel, and Xero, while maintaining payroll, VAT, and tax compliance.

The role requires solid accounting experience and articles completed, with strong Excel and MS Office skills. You will analyze cash flow, assist with budgeting, and support audits and IFRS-related work in a fast-paced practice environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a B.Com Accounting Degree and have completed articles.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Advanced Excel is required.
• Experience with Sage Pastel, Sage One Cloud, Caseware and Xero is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years related accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements and management accounts in caseware and sage one cloud accounting.
• Process accounting information in sage pastel and sage one cloud accounting.
• Administer payroll cycles in sage VIP payroll and cloud VIP payroll.
• File EMP201 and EMP501 returns on SARS eFiling and manage VAT201 returns.
• Prepare income tax and provisional tax returns for SARS filing.
• Manage cash flow, banking, and forecast projections.
• Prepare annual budgets and analyze variances.
• Oversee payables and receivables including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
• Assist audits / IFRS compilations, independent reviews, and management accounts.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and presentation of financial statements and management accounts in caseware working papers and sage one cloud accounting.
• Processing of accounting information in sage pastel and sage one cloud accounting .
• Payroll cycle administration in sage VIP payroll and cloud VIP payroll online.
• Processing and filing of EMP201 returns and EMP501 reconciliation on SARS efiling.
• Processing and filing of VAT201 returns on SARS efiling.
• Processing and filing of Income tax and provisional tax returns on SARS efiling.
• Cashflow management function and processing including bank, cash on hand and forecast projections.
• Formulation of annual budgets and analysis of variances.
• Accounts payable management including processing of invoices, initiation and actioning of payments and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
• Management of accounts receivable including distribution of statements, collections, processing remittances and customer reconciliation.
