• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
• General Ledger & Reconciliations:
• • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of accounts, including banking reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial periods.
• Taxation & Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and report any variances.
  • Support management with financial planning and decision-making.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Work with internal teams to optimise cash flow and manage working capital effectively.
• Process Improvement & Internal Controls:
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Support automation and digital transformation initiatives in accounting functions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and South African tax regulations, and financial compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to interpret financial data.
