- Creating new ledger accounts in the General Ledger.
- Preparing journal entries (provisions, depreciation, intercompany charges, etc.).
- Performing intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register.
- Preparing fixed asset purchase approval documents.
- Overseeing the full creditor’s function.
- Issuing of purchase orders for approved orders.
- Updating of monthly electricity schedules.
- Daily capturing of bank transactions, ensuring that general ledger accounts are kept up to date.
- Preparing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing petty cash reconciliations.
- Preparing inventory reconciliations.
- Performing VAT reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting the VAT201.
- Monthly analysis of fleet cards and allocation of fuel cost.
- Assisting with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits.
- Assisting with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors.
- Tasks are not limited to the above and the incumbent should be willing to assist with ad hoc duties as it may arise due to business requirements.
QUALIFICATION:- B Com degree (Accounting / Finance).
EXPERIENCE:- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- A minimum of 2 -3 years’ experience in an accounting role within a medium sized organization.
SKILLS & COMPETENCE:- Strong personality.
- Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience (advantage).
- Computer literate with experience in Excel (intermediary to advance).
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
