Job description

A well-established property investment company is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with IFRS for SMEs. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of accounting systems and property finance.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintain accurate financial records using ACCPAC MDA and CaseWare.
2. Reconcile all accounts periodically and process invoices, receipts, and returns.
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and profit and loss accounts.
4. Assist in audit preparations and respond to audit queries.
5. Maintain supporting documentation and financial records of subsidiaries.
6. Analyze financial statements, manage cash flow, and ensure tax compliance.
7. Assist in budgeting and provide commentary on variances.
8. Draw up trial balances and balance sheets.
9. Ensure safeguarding of all financial data and compliance with updated standards.

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and South African tax legislation.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle complexity and present data clearly.
• Proficient in ACCPAC MDA and CaseWare.
