Role Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Momentum Wealth International. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full accounting and financial control function for an Offshore Investment Manco. The Manco operates under a heavily regulated environment, so attention to detail and meeting deadlines are essential. This role involves working closely with the finance team to support overall financial operations and contribute to the company's financial health. The position reports directly to the Financial Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant financial accounting experience, preferably in the Investment Management industry. Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
- Experience in accounting for foreign entities and foreign exchange is advantageous.
Knowledge :
- JDE knowledge will be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Solid Excel skills, from basic to advanced functions.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, ensuring timely posting of transactions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, monitor variances, and analyze results.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage invoice processing, payments, collections, and vendor relationships.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations, prepare and file tax returns.
- Audit Support: Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct analyses to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Internal Financial Control: Maintain internal control frameworks, monitor compliance, and support audits.
- System Maintenance: Use and update financial software, ensuring data integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Work with the finance team and other departments to support financial operations.
- Ensure month-end entries are processed accurately up to the Trial Balance stage.
- Manage timely payments to fund managers and creditors.
- Oversee bank reconciliations for local and offshore accounts.
- Prepare VAT reconciliations and SARB submissions, ensuring compliance.
- Prepare tax calculations and journals.
- Coordinate with auditors during annual audits, providing needed documentation.
