Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in respect of general ledger (GL) accounts and assisting with the administration of all companies within the Group.

You will be responsible for assisting with ad hoc requests from senior finance staff, preparing and providing accurate information on all documentation and compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing and posting cashbook entries and overseeing monthly bank account reconciliations for entities in the Group.
  2. Preparing and managing ad hoc EFT payments.
  3. Preparing income tax schedules for tax returns disclosure purposes for all entities in the Group.
  4. Maintaining the Fixed Asset register - all tasks relating to Fixed Assets including Depreciation, W&T Calculations.
  5. Preparing monthly general journals including provisions, prepayments.
  6. Preparing and maintaining monthly GL recons including intercompany recharges.
  7. Preparing VAT returns.
  8. Other ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

  1. Grade 12, with Mathematics.
  2. B.Com degree with major in Accounting.
  3. 5+ years' experience in GL entries, cashbook and intercompany entries is preferable.
  4. Computer literacy - MS Office (With a high proficiency in MS Excel).
  5. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
