Job description

RPO's client is actively seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven professional to lead financial operations within a dynamic environment.
Position Overview:

Role: Financial Accountant
Level: Middle Management
Reports to: Managing Director
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Cape Town
Remuneration: Market-related
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and goals
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets
  • Establish and improve financial system controls
  • Monitor and manage financial accounting, reporting, and cash flow
  • Maintain banking relationships and ensure operational funding
  • Forecast costs, revenues, and manage contract/project financials
  • Manage tax payments and ensure group-wide tax efficiency
  • Analyze and report financial variances with cost-saving strategies
  • Assist the MD with budgeting and financial decision-making
  • Oversee capital budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audit processes
  • Maintain accurate ledgers, accounts, and financial records
  • Support the development, mentorship, and upskilling of the finance team
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Relevant Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years' finance experience in the construction industry
  • Must reside in Cape Town
  • Proficient in Buildsmart and MS Office
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans (both verbal and written)
  • South African Citizen
  • Valid, unendorsed driver's license and own vehicle
