Job summary

Collinson Group in Cape Town is seeking an experienced ERP/D365 F&O Specialist to manage and optimise the organisation's key business systems. You will oversee system health, security, and performance while coordinating upgrades and new functionality with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires 3+ years with D365 F&O, strong SQL and Python skills, and advanced Excel/Power BI capabilities to support data-driven decisions across a multi-currency environment.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft D365 F&O essential; minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with SQL and database schema; Python knowledge required.
• Strong MS Excel and Power BI skills for reporting and analysis.
• Experience in multi-currency environments advantageous.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the ERP system (D365 F&O) and other key systems, including access, permissions, backups, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Provide guidance, training and technical support to users.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors and consultants to implement changes and new functionality within ERP/toolset.
• Plan and implement system upgrades and changes, gather requirements, test changes, and deploy.
• Ensure system security and protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Monitor performance and capacity; resolve bottlenecks and ensure sufficient capacity.

Purpose of the job

Reporting into the Finance Systems Manager you will be ensuring the systems are fit for purpose with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, reliability, timeliness and ease of use - whilst keeping a continual eye on opportunities for improvement to evolve the systems tools to meet the growing needs of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the organisations ERP (D365 F&O) system and other key business systems – including monitoring integrations, managing the operational health of systems (e.g. provision of access, managing permissions, backups, performance and trouble-shooting, capacity monitoring).
• Providing guidance, training and technical support to users.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors and consultants to implement business changes and to implement new functionality within the ERP toolset/other business systems.
• Planning and implementing system upgrades and changes – including working with stakeholders to gather requirements, testing changes, and deploying them to the system.
• Securing the ERP system and other Business systems. This includes implementing security measures to protect the system from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats.
• Monitoring system performance and capacity. This includes identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and ensuring that the system has enough capacity to meet the needs of the business.
• Keeping up with the latest ERP and other business systems trends and technologies - including staying informed of new features and functionality, as well as new security threats.
• Developing and maintaining system documentation.
• Analysing system logs and data.
• Preparing status reports and presentations for senior management.
• Understanding the business and improving / developing IT solutions to support insight and efficiency.
