Financial Systems Data Analyst

FinTech / Data / Finance / Systems Integration

Location: Cape Town, City Bowl (Hybrid - 3 Days per week)

Salary: $2.5k - $4k per month (approx R48k - R75k per month)

We're seeking a Financial Systems Data Analyst to ensure the integrity of our financial integrations and drive data-informed decision-making. This role offers unique exposure to our commercial projects, operations, and system architecture, with potential growth into various teams.

Your Role:

1. Produce assurance on financial integrations between source systems (sales, costs, payments) and accounting.
2. Spec and manage the development of further integrations or migrations.
3. Work directly with the CFO and CTO to analyze and interpret financial data.
4. Gather, present, and report on data to support strategic decision-making.
5. Build and maintain data assets using SQL or cloud data manipulation tools (Spark, Hive, BigQuery, Athena).
6. Engage with stakeholders to understand system functionalities and data requirements.

What You’ll Need:

1. 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or related field.
2. Experience understanding systems through data and people engagement.
3. Experience gathering, presenting, and reporting on data.
4. Proficiency in SQL or other data manipulation tools (Spark, Hive, BigQuery, Athena).
5. Basic understanding of finance and accounting is advantageous.
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
