Finance Systems Automation Specialist

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Finance Systems and Automation Specialist to join our clients finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in driving innovation and efficiency by developing, maintaining, and enhancing Python-based automation solutions for finance processes. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for optimizing workflows and enabling data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team of System Analysts providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of system-related projects and solutions.

Automation Development and Maintenance:

• Build and maintain Python-based automation tools for reconciliation preparation and review processes.
• Develop and refine income statement review tools to identify and address anomalies efficiently.
• Create and sustain big data extraction, cleansing, and transformation pipelines to support finance processes.

Innovation and Process Improvement:

• Contribute to the automation of routine finance tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.
• Implement efficient and innovative solutions for complex computational and data-related challenges.
• Learn, test, and adopt new technologies to enhance existing tools and workflows.

Data Management and Analysis:

• Onboard, organize, and optimize new and existing data sets to improve accessibility and usability.
• Build and implement analytics tools to drive insights and improve financial decision-making.
• Conduct back testing and analysis to improve process effectiveness and outcomes.

Infrastructure and Support:

• Assist in the deployment and verification of upgrades to custom applications and technical infrastructure.
• Proactively address monitoring alerts and develop monitoring platforms to enhance operational reliability.
• Provide support for technical issues related to finance automation tools and processes.

Collaboration and Strategy Development:

• Support the launch of new strategies and models within the finance team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Support post-implementation activities to ensure effective clearing and accurate record-keeping.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of work experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python with experience in data analysis, automation, and process improvement.
• Familiarity with financial processes including reconciliations, income statement analysis, and data management.
• Experience with big data tools and technologies for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• A passion for technology, automation, and continuous learning.
• Experience with Azure Dynamics 365 and Snowflake advantageous.
