Your mission: Within the Reporting & Controlling department of the Alstom South Africa, your role will be twofold:

  • You will be the right-hand man of the Alstom South Africa Site Controller at Alstom South Africa Holding managing the site's economic performance (hourly rates, analyzing overhead coverage, assisting with budgeting, forecasting, etc.).
  • You will also be responsible for preparing reliable financial reports, analyzing them, and explaining them, using the appropriate ALSTOM tools, while respecting procedures and deadlines, both at the site and Reporting Unit levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

Budget control of the site's cost centers, supporting the Site Controller

  • Participate in the various phases of budget development and forecasting
  • Collect data from operational departments and verify its consistency
  • Conduct monthly closing operations
  • Monitor headcount and payroll
  • Prepare data reports and analyze them (vs. forecasts, N-1, or other relevant areas) for members of the Executive Committee, the Site's operational departments, the Reporting Manager, the Finance Director of the Reporting Unit, and the Headquarters Finance teams

Other cross-functional missions

Depending on the evolution of the distribution of tasks within the Reporting team, you will be required to participate in all or part of the following missions:

  • Investment monitoring
  • Monitoring of accounting and efficiency
  • Inventory monitoring
  • Cash monitoring
  • Monitoring and implementation of foreign exchange hedging transactions
  • Analysis of balance sheet accounts, including third-party accounts
  • Preparation of the corresponding reports for the Reporting Manager, the Finance Director of the Reporting Unit, and the Headquarters Finance teams
  • Feeding of information into the Group's consolidation tools

Reporting & Coordination

  • Work closely with other members of the Reporting Unit's Finance team: the controllers of the various sites, other members of the Reporting team, and the project & product management controllers
  • Collaborate with the Group's accounting teams
  • Act as an interface with the Site Management Committee and operational departments on the anticipation and monitoring of Changes in costs, staffing levels, efficiency, or any other relevant aggregate
  • Alert and raise any issues in the event of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) deterioration
  • Alert your manager about sensitive issues

Your profile:

Education / Qualifications

Master's degree (Bac +5) / Master's degree (Master 2) in Finance

Experience

Minimum 5 years of significant experience

Technical Skills

Proficiency in the Office suite / Knowledge of SAP / Operational English / Basic knowledge of internal control
