Finance Officer

A rapidly scaling tech company is looking for a Finance Officer to join their team in Rondebosch, Cape Town.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial statements and optimizing accounting processes. Additionally, they support budgeting and forecasting and assist with financial operations, audits, and tax filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing financial reports and maintaining Xero accounting records.
• Manage payment processing, customer invoices, and cash flow.
• Reconcile client funds and monitor Mastercard-related costs for accuracy.
• Manage user refunds, chargebacks, and unallocated payments.
• Oversee accounting functions, ensuring IFRS compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory submissions.
• Manage company assets, including insurance and fixed assets.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audits and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, CIMA or SAIPA with 3+ years of experience, preferably in payments technology.
• Experience working with Xero is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
• Experience in financial analysis, accounting principles, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary:

• R30 000 / month CTC depending on the candidate’s experience.
