Financial Manager

Bottomline IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to oversee our company's financial operations.

The Financial Manager will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in financial management and possess excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Finance and Treasury Management
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure that financial risks are identified and effectively managed through appropriate accounting procedures, internal controls, and governance.
  • Manage and report on the organization’s core finances transparently.
  • Review accounting and reporting systems regularly for improvements.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for stakeholders including the CFO and executive management.
  • Oversee all accounting functions including income statement, receivables, payables, and assets.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage.
  • Manage payroll and compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements.
  • Support staff training and development in finance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure an integrated finance function.
  • Manage the finance team, including deadlines, delegation, and leave management.
  • Manage cash flows with the CFO and liaise with bankers.
  • Review EFT payments weekly and ensure proper documentation filing.
  • Budgets and Forecasts
    • Assist business units with annual budgets.
    • Prepare consolidated budgets and forecasts with the CFO.
    • Monitor expenditure against budgets and address variances.
    • Generate timely financial reports for management and the board.
  • Financial Statements and Audits
    • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors.
    • Prepare for and facilitate audits, resolving findings promptly.
  • Contract and Procurement Management
    • Work with procurement to ensure policy compliance and value-for-money.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Support tender processes and development of dossiers.
    Desired Experience & Qualifications
    • BCom in Financial Accounting or Financial Management; completed articles with an audit firm.
    • Membership with SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in SAGE People and accounting software.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in finance or audit, with at least 2 years in management.
    • Experience in the ICT sector is a plus.
    • Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
    • Leadership, learning, and diversity management abilities.
    • Analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
    • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
    • Advanced MS Office skills.
