Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the Portfolio Finance Team with a focus on performance and growth.
  2. Drive the financial management and reporting across all property portfolios under management.
  3. Provide strategic input into financial policies, controls, and processes.
  4. Oversee treasury, investments, and internal controls across multiple regions.
  5. Liaise with clients, ensuring their expectations are met with professionalism and proactive service.
  6. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  7. Prepare Annual Financial Statements and Group Reporting Packs (e.g., Cognos, JDE).
  8. Manage monthly and year-end procedures, including VAT, balance sheet reconciliations, and SMAC calculations.
  9. Play a key role in new client take-ons and the acquisition of new properties.
  10. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  11. Act as a signatory on all portfolio bank accounts.
  12. Foster collaboration between finance, property management, and asset management teams.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  2. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  3. Exceptional analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of financial accounting, taxation, and property industry financials.
  5. Proficient in MS Office (Advanced Excel).
  6. Experience with Great Plains, JDE, PIMS, and management reporting systems (Ex Frx) is highly advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Relevant Accounting / Finance qualification (e.g., BCom, CA(SA) preferred).
  2. At least 5+ years of senior finance experience, preferably within property or portfolio management.
  3. Strong understanding of IFRS, VAT, and Income Tax regulations.
  4. Experience in managing teams and dealing with multi-regional portfolios.
