Job description

Finance Manager (CA / SA)

We are looking to hire an experienced, high-performing Finance Manager (CA / SA).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 4 years' experience. The Finance Manager will provide financial advice on business planning and assist in decision-making to ensure the business's financial success.

The Finance Manager will manage day-to-day financial activities and report to the Executive Finance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate financial statements and management accounts: preparation and submission of management accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS.
  • Preparation of the annual budget.
  • Preparation of monthly forecasts.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret monthly results for accuracy and against targets.
  • Review and prepare monthly accruals, prepayments, provisions, etc.
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Contribute as a member of the company support system: communicate financial risks, advise on financial health, review creditor reconciliations, ensure debtor invoicing and supplier reconciliations are accurate, review payments for authorization and validity, and oversee all month-end functions, general ledger, and stock procedures.
  • Assist during external audits, including schedules and financial statements.
  • Maintain effective internal controls: follow financial procedures, assist during internal control visits and audits, implement audit requirements, and identify/fix control weaknesses.
  • Complete monthly finance checklists, departmental job descriptions, and personal development plans for staff.
  • Manage work performance, leave, attendance, and absenteeism of employees.
  • Represent the company at external forums, handle stakeholder queries.
Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 3 to 4 years proven experience at a senior level in a financial accounting environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the culture, arts, tourism, and hospitality sectors is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
  • Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Acc / Bpt / B (Hons).
  • Registered as a Chartered Accountant (CA / SA) with SAICA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel), Power BI, and SQL.
  • Supervisory experience with Sage Evolution.
