A fast‑growing startup advisory firm providing operational finance and fractional CFO services to innovative UK early‑stage companies is seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join their team remotely.

This role offers the opportunity to build scalable finance processes, manage core accounting operations, and support strategic financial decision‑making for a portfolio of high‑growth international clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the firm’s operational finance delivery – overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, management accounts, and day‑to‑day compliance across a growing client base.
• Design and refine processes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and the overall quality of financial outputs, ensuring a scalable foundation as the business grows.
• Adopt a hands‑on approach, stepping into operational tasks where needed while continuously tightening workflows and building structure.
• Play a key role in shaping the delivery function and, as the client portfolio expands, begin developing and leading a small team within the first six months.
• Support fractional CFO engagements through financial modelling, research, analysis, and other strategic finance projects.
• Develop expertise in the financial, tax, and accounting considerations that early‑stage and high‑growth companies face, particularly within international startup ecosystems.
• Prepare reliable financial data packs, reconciliations, working papers and internal reporting used for decision‑making and client communication.
• Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, scenario models and investor‑related deliverables that help founders make informed decisions.
• Collaborate directly with senior leadership, contributing across both operational and strategic areas of client relationships.
• Leverage cloud‑based accounting tools and modern systems to maintain accurate records, organise data and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• CA(SA) with 0–3 years of post‑articles experience.
• Hands‑on approach – willing to take on both operational finance tasks and strategic project work.
• Commercial, ambitious, and entrepreneurial, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguity while building structure from scratch.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with founders and senior stakeholders.
• Comfort using cloud‑based accounting systems and modern financial tools.
