Job description

A nonprofit organisation focusing on youth leadership is currently seeking an operationalFinance Manager to join their team in Johannesburg.

As the Financial Manager, you report directly to the CFO, overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial reports, analyse trends, and support decision-making with presentations for executives and stakeholders.

  • Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, and ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.

  • Manage external audits, liaise with auditors, and implement accounting policies and SOPs.

  • Monitor liquidity, manage banking relationships, and optimize investment strategies.

  • Develop a financial risk matrix and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee tax compliance, prepare and submit tax returns, and optimize tax benefits.

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring continuous improvement and effective workload management.

  • Partner with the CFO to align financial strategies with organizational goals and support grant applications.

  • Enhance financial systems, policies, and controls, implementing new tools for efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified CA(SA)

  • +5-7 years of financial management experience, preferably in the education or non-profit sector

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and IFRS compliance

  • Proven leadership, team management, and effective stakeholder communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel; ERP experience is beneficial.

  • Detail-oriented and analytical with strong report-writing abilities.

Salary:
  • R1 000 000 - R1 200 000 / year CTC
