About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Manager to lead our financial operations and drive strategic growth. This role is responsible for overseeing daily finance functions, developing and executing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory frameworks. You will also provide financial insights to support business decisions and investor relations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide strategic financial insights
  • Ensure compliance with SARS (VAT, PAYE, income tax) and the Companies Act
  • Support audits, funding rounds, and investor reporting requirements
  • Strengthen financial controls and lead process automation initiatives (Xero, Dext, Cin7 Core)
  • Supervise junior finance staff and provide coaching and development
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO on capital planning and financial strategy

About you

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA(SA) or CMA advantageous)
  • 3–5 years of experience in a financial management role
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero, Excel and google sheets
  • Experience with Dext and Cin7 Core is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports
  • Strong understanding of South African tax regulations and the Companies Act
  • Strong grasp of financial regulations (IFRS for SME, IFRS), compliance, and controls
  • Exposure to startup, SME, or high-growth environments is beneficial

Location

This is an office-based role at the Resolute HQ, with occasional travel.

This is a senior role within the Finance Team.
