Sanlam's MiWay is seeking a Financial Manager who will be pivotal in preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance, and managing financial transactions. The ideal candidate will hold a CA (SA) designation with 4-5 years of relevant experience, particularly in the financial services sector. Vacancy – Financial ManagerA vacancy for this position currently exists at MiWay Head Office: Kosmosdal, reporting to the Senior Financial Manager.
What will make you successful in this role?Result Areas
• Preparation and analysis of statutory financial statements and reports, including month end reporting.
• Manage accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers and reconciliations.
• General Ledger management and ensuring integrity of all accounts during month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies.
• Assist with audits, tax filings and other financial compliance requirements.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
• Participate in financial planning, forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Provide support and guidance to departments on financial matters.
• Prepare and file various financial reports and disclosures as required.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, policies and regulations.
• Other ad hoc related matters
Requirements
• CA (SA) preferable
• Minimum 4-5 years post qualification experience
• Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in insurance or related financial services industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and financial reporting standards – including an understanding of IFRS17
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Analytical and problem-solving
• Proficiency in Microsoft excel and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
