The Depot Financial Manager at Falcon Gas - ETG, within the Exchange Traded Commodities Vertical (ETCV), is a mid-level position within the Finance & Accounts Department. This role is responsible for record-to-report, financial analysis and compliance activities, thereby ensuring the financial integrity of the organization.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile all accounts, review general ledger entries, and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate and complete Trial Balances
- Support the business and decision makers in relevant financial planning, forecasting, and budget tracking processes.
- Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain and update all financial records and documentation.
- Manage and co-ordinate depot finance team
- Responsible for cash handling, banking and reconciliation thereof
- Effective stock handling procedures, physical verifications and close monitoring of stock movements
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements within the Finance & Accounts Department.
- Year-end and month-end closing activities in accordance with group timelines.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies including taxation
- Responsible for direct and indirect taxes
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Adhoc tasks and activities as assigned by the HoF
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
