Job description

My client is looking for a reliable Financial Manager to join their dynamic team in Centurion.

In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department and play a key role in analysing financial results.

Your insights will guide executives and business leaders in making informed decisions for the company's future financial success.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) in accounting / financial management with 10+ years of relevant experience
  2. SAICA / SAIPA membership (preferred), completed articles required
  3. Advanced Excel, and Power BI (advantage)
  4. Willingness to work under strict deadlines, occasional overtime
  5. Expertise in month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial controls
  6. Knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, auditing, taxation (Corporate Tax, VAT, etc.)
  7. Familiarity with SARS e-Filing, SAGE Payroll, Xero, Draftworx / CaseWare
Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of 2-4 staff
  2. Manage financial accounting, reporting, tax, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, invoicing, and controls
  3. Oversee cash flow, risk management, and compliance
  4. Liaise with Exco and manage complex transactions
  5. Identify areas for cost reduction by analysing expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  6. Manage cash flow and liquidity
  7. Invest idle cash to maximise returns
  8. Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions
  9. Monitor and manage foreign exchange requirements and risk
  10. Develop financial policies and governance frameworks and ensure compliance
  11. Prepare timely annual financial statements for approval by the Board and Shareholders
  12. Coordinate external audits and liaison with external auditors
  13. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  14. Utilise technology to automate routine transactions to improve efficiency
  15. Lead by example and foster a culture of compassion and empathy within the Finance team
  16. Identify the professional development needs of the Finance team
