Our client, a leader in the oilfield service and supply industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Manager to join their team
in Alrode, Alberton. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in financial management, capable of managing the full financial function through to management account level, and will have experience with ACCPAC Accounting software. This is a full-time, hands‑on role that requires a proactive individual ready to contribute to a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Management Accounts & Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and monthly management reports, providing financial insights and analysis to support management decision-making.
- Tax & VAT: Calculate and submit VAT returns and assist with tax provisions, tax computations and other relevant tax requirements.
- Audit & Stock Counts: Assist external auditors with the necessary information and work required during annual audits and assist with annual stock counts and related reconciliations.
- SAGE Accounting: Utilise SAGE Accounting software for financial record-keeping, reporting and overall financial management.
- Hands‑On Execution: Engage in the day‑to‑day financial activities of the business, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to support business objectives, providing financial advice and recommendations.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with applicable accounting standards, tax legislation and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager, preferably in a similar industry.
- Proficiency in ACCPAC Accounting software is essential.
- Experience in preparing monthly management accounts and management reports.
- Experience with VAT, tax computations and provisions, annual audits and stock counts.
- Strong cash‑flow management and forecasting skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hands‑on approach with a willingness to engage in all levels of financial management tasks.
