Job description

To monitor, coordinate, and provide high-quality management information, and to oversee the financial functions of CHG hospitals.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: CA (SA) qualification. 3-5 years of financial management experience. Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including latest amendments in IFRS 9, 15 & 16. Computer proficiency – Advanced Excel and SAP are non-negotiable. Deadline-driven is paramount and non-negotiable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the production of accurate and timely financial management information.
  2. Prepare the hospital's financial statements according to internal CHG standards and in compliance with IFRS.
  3. Maintain the Masterfile of Financial information on the approved financial system.
  4. Review and provide feedback for asset, liability, and capital account journals prepared by the hospital's Financial Accountant.
  5. Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
  6. Prepare management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
  7. Analyze and interpret balance sheet reconciliations and costs.
  8. Review and sign off on general ledger reconciliations.
  9. Analyze and monitor variances to budget and take corrective actions to support financial targets.
  10. Compile annual and interim budgets and report on variances.
  11. Review and sign off on budgets.
  12. Evaluate the hospital's financial processes, procedures, and controls, and implement remedial actions for alignment.
  13. Ensure VAT compliance for the hospital.
  14. Maintain CAPEX and fixed asset registers.
  15. Implement, monitor, and control relevant finance processes according to standards, policies, compliance, and governance requirements.
  16. Ensure the alignment and implementation of end-to-end standard operating procedures/processes.
  17. Research, enable, and consult on improvements and opportunities.
