Job description

Elyon Lubricants is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial operations in South Africa, the UK, Zimbabwe, and our Elyon distribution partners.

This role is crucial in maintaining financial compliance, optimizing cash flow, and supporting business growth.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong financial acumen, capable of managing multiple entities within the Elyon Group.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Management & Reporting (South Africa, Zimbabwe & UK):
    • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for Elyon Lubricants South Africa and Elyon Lubricants UK.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
    • Conduct financial analysis to optimize revenue and cost efficiency.
    • Monitor and ensure tax compliance, VAT submissions, and statutory filings in both South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the UK.
    • Lead year-end financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local financial regulations.
  2. Accounts & Treasury Management:
    • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow across entities.
    • Oversee banking relationships and treasury functions.
    • Ensure reconciliation of financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Implement internal financial controls to prevent fraud and mismanagement.
    • Manage financial operations and reporting for Elyon Lubricants distribution partners.
    • Ensure proper accounting for inventory, stock movement, and sales revenue.
    • Work closely with the sales and logistics teams to track financial performance of distributors.
    • Ensure pricing strategies and margin calculations are financially viable.
  3. Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
    • Stay updated with South African tax laws, financial regulations, and UK financial requirements.
    • Ensure BBBEE, PAYE, and other regulatory filings are accurate and up to date.
    • Implement corporate governance and risk management strategies.
    • Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
    • Work closely with the CEO and senior management to support business expansion.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems for improved efficiency.
Key Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.
  2. Experience working in a multi-entity or multinational business (preferred).
  3. Strong knowledge of South African financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
  4. Familiarity with UK accounting standards and financial regulations is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in financial reporting tools, ERP systems, and Excel.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage cross-border financial operations.
  7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  8. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG sectors is advantageous.
