UK Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Lunch between 12:00-2:00 PM UK Time)

They're now seeking a talented Finance Manager to bring structure, leadership, and clarity to the finance function.

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the full financial process-from transactional accounting to strategic reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who's operated in small, agile environments and is ready to manage everything from month-end to audits while overseeing a small finance team. You'll be the right-hand to the CEO on financial matters and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate, timely reporting and business insights. Recruitment or software sector experience is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the monthly management pack, ready to review by the agreed deadline, ensuring all work is accurate, timely, easy to follow, and informative. Ensuring all review points are cleared prior to the final review.
  • Providing clear, detailed balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all line items are correct and appropriately coded.
  • Liaise with HMRC on PAYE and VAT matters if required
  • Consistently learning from review points in prior months.
  • Tracking progress against budgets and providing commentary on variances
  • Collate and analyse data to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the business
  • Monthly/Quarterly commission and bonus calculations
  • Assist in the production of statutory accounts.
  • Liaise with the Audit team to provide the required information.
  • Assisting in ensuring effective controls and processes are in place to maintain compliance with UK and International tax and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts
  • Prioritising your workload effectively to meet month-end deadlines.
  • Liaise with International accountants and take a proactive approach to managing reporting.


Requirements

  • Qualified or nearly qualified accountant
  • Experience working in a recruitment agency or a high-growth software/SaaS business.
  • Experience working for a UK-based company or knowledge of UK compliance and International tax and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Comfortable operating in a smaller team environment and managing finance end-to-end.
  • Proven experience in preparing management packs, balance sheet recs, and handling audits.
  • Knowledge of Xero and/or Access Financials is essential.
  • Strong Excel skills and data analysis capability.
  • Experience managing junior staff with a confident, structured leadership style.
  • Strong communicator with the resilience to work alongside a high-expectation CEO.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.
  • Not suited to a passive or hands-off personality-this role requires energy, initiative, and presence.
