Job description

A leading luxury brand in fragrances, cosmetics, and personal care is looking for an experienced CA/ Financial Manager. This role is key to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with accounting standards and tax laws, and overseeing reporting and budgeting processes. The position plays a vital part in maintaining financial integrity and driving operational efficiency across the retail business and wider group.

Location: Ballito

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting:

• Prepare group monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and South African regulations. Monthly Reporting to the Board
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Assist in developing annual Financial budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide insights for cost control.

Taxation & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with South African Revenue Service (SARS) tax regulations, including VAT,PAYE, and corporate tax.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and assist with tax audits.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations affecting the retail industry.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

• Monitor and manage daily cash flow and banking activities.
• Assist in managing company treasury functions, including payments and collections.
• Ensure bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
• Monthly cash flow analysis and reporting.

Internal Controls & Audits:

• Maintain and improve internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
• Assist with external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Ensure proper record-keeping for all financial transactions.

Inventory & Cost Accounting:

• Oversee inventory accounting and valuation, ensuring accurate stock control.
• Monitor cost of sales and margins to support pricing strategies.
• Reconcile stock movement and resolve discrepancies.

Pricing and Promotions Administration:

• Ensure pricing and promotional changes required are affected timeously in the inventory management system

People Management:

• Manage Bookkeeper and Debtors & Creditors Clerk

Key Requirements

• CA (SA) qualification
• Min 8–10 years in a similar role, preferably in the retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations.
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, Xero).
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to multitask
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
