Job description

Seeking an experienced Financial Director to lead the division’s financial strategy, operations, and compliance. This senior role is critical to driving business performance, ensuring sound governance, and supporting executive decision-making. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a key part in the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax laws, and South African financial regulations.
  • Manage risk, internal controls, audits, and financial governance processes.
  • Provide strategic insights to support growth, investment, and business decisions.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Engage with actuaries on insurance product performance.
  • Participate in board, executive, and insurance fund committees.

Experience & Skills Required

  • CA(SA) or equivalent qualification.
  • 8+ years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in financial services or insurance.
  • Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and risk management.
  • Experience with financial systems and strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Experience in the motor or insurance industry is an advantage.
