Finance Director

A leading multinational Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical company based in the north of Johannesburg, operating in a complex, dynamic environment with multiple business units, is seeking a Finance Director.

This role oversees the entire finance function, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership
   1. Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
   2. Provide financial insights to support decision-making at the executive and board levels.
   3. Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to optimise financial performance.
   4. Drive business growth strategies by identifying and assessing financial risks and opportunities.
2. Financial Operations & Compliance
   1. Oversee all financial functions, including Tax, Treasury, Budgeting, Forecasting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Management.
   2. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, IFRS, and corporate governance requirements.
   3. Manage external and internal audits, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
   4. Optimise cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies to enhance financial health.
3. Risk & Treasury Management
   1. Oversee treasury operations, ensuring effective liquidity and risk management.
   2. Manage currency risks and financial exposure across multiple African markets.
   3. Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's financial stability.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
   1. Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
   2. Partner with Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs teams to drive business objectives.
   3. Engage with investors, financial institutions, and key stakeholders to strengthen financial positioning.

Key Requirements

1. CA (SA) or CGMA qualification.
2. Minimum of 5 years in a Finance Director, CFO, or Head of Finance role within a multinational or complex corporate structure.
3. Must have experience in managing finances of multiple business units within a large, dynamic organisation.
4. Proven ability to operate in a dynamic, high-growth, and multi-business unit environment.
5. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
