Job description

Finance Accountant / Controller

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Accountant / Controller to manage and streamline our financial operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in setting up and managing accounting systems. You will play a key role in organizing and optimizing financial processes for our first facility and establishing a solid financial foundation for our second facility using QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting Systems Management: Implement and maintain QuickBooks for financial tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Financial Organization: Organize and optimize the accounting structure for the existing facility to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • New Entity Setup: Establish financial records, systems, and processes for the new facility from scratch.
  • Trust Accounting & Credit Card Management: Handle trust accounts, credit card transactions, and reconciliations.
  • General Bookkeeping & Compliance: Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, financial reporting, and tax preparation assistance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration & Oversight: Work independently while coordinating with management. Potentially oversee a junior bookkeeper as the company scales.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 5+ years in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management, preferably in healthcare or service-based industries.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting tools.
  • Initiative & Problem-Solving: Self-starter who takes ownership and finds solutions proactively.
  • Trust Accounting Experience: Preferred but not required.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly organized with excellent accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain financial concepts clearly and work collaboratively with leadership.
