Job summary

CA Financial Appointments seeks a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support two strategic areas: people and technology in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

You’ll partner with stakeholders, translating complex financial information into practical commercial insight, challenging spend and helping ensure investment decisions deliver real value. Hybrid in Cape Town, 4 days in office, 6 month contract with potential to extend.

Qualifications

• Experience partnering with HR and Engineering functions.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into commercial insight.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting skills.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, monthly forecasting and variance analysis across HR and Engineering.
• Manage people costs and headcount forecasting, including salaries and recruitment costs.
• Partner with Engineering on cloud infrastructure, software costs, and CapEx vs OpEx decisions.
• Build financial models for restructures, outsourcing, build-vs-buy decisions and new investments.
• Deliver accurate monthly management reporting while maintaining strong financial controls.
• Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and present clear recommendations.

Note - Cape Town, CBD | Hybrid - 4 days in office | 6 Month Contract (Potential to become permanent)

What you’ll be doing

• Own budgeting, monthly forecasting and insightful variance analysis across HR and Engineering

• Partner with Engineering on cloud infrastructure, software costs, technology investment and CapEx vs OpEx decisions

• Deliver accurate, insight-led monthly management reporting while maintaining strong financial controls
• Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities early, and turn financial data into clear recommendations for leadership
