ManpowerGroup South Africa is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support the Finance team with day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate must have experience in both creditors and debtors functions, invoicing, cashbook, and general financial administration.
This role is pivotal in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting the team with both internal and external compliance needs.
What you'll do:
Creditors – General and Sundry
- Create and manage purchase orders for sundry purchases; maintain an accurate PO register.
- Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and capture into the accounting system.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and ensure timely payments.
- Process payments, credit notes, and flag possible write-offs to the Financial Controller.
- Maintain updated creditor schedules and ensure no duplicate payments.
- Process and update rental and other cost allocation schedules.
Invoicing
- Generate invoices using payroll-provided schedules.
- Distribute invoices and timesheets electronically to branches and clients.
- Ensure proper filing of payroll schedules for audit purposes.
- File all invoices and supporting documentation electronically.
- Upload client invoices onto client-specific AP portals.
- Balance the Perm Placement Schedule and circulate to managers for verification.
Cashbook
- Daily capturing of bank statement items, including receipts and payments.
- Maintain a well-organized audit trail for all posted receipts.
General Administration
- Maintain up-to-date and organized filing systems.
- Obtain quotes for office and business purchases.
- Conduct credit checks on new clients.
- Create and maintain debtor and creditor accounts in the accounting system.
- Assist with financial year-end preparation, including reports and schedules.
- Follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments and account queries.
- Contribute to finance-related policy and process updates.
What we are looking for
- Finance qualification (e.g. Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field) is essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role.
- Solid understanding of creditors and debtors management.
- Knowledge of asset management and depreciation, VAT reconciliations, and working with AP portals.
- Prior experience with Sage Intacct will be a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
