A leading manufacturing company based in Hartlepool is seeking a temporary finance assistant to join their busy accounting team. You will report to the Financial Controller and work within a friendly, welcoming team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide support for weekly and monthly financial reporting.
2. Process invoices and reconcile delivery notes with invoices and purchase orders, following best practices.
3. Accurately record all purchases in the company's accounting system, including proper allocation of supplier codes, nominal codes, and cost centers.
4. Process customer refunds efficiently, verifying eligibility, generating documentation, and updating customer accounts.
5. Provide regular departmental reports to managers.
6. Maintain and update financial systems as needed.
7. Perform month-end accounting procedures.
8. Generate key financial reports.
9. Assist in preparing financial data for monthly management accounts.
10. Contribute to the production of annual statutory accounts.
11. Reconcile supplier statements and company credit card accounts monthly.
12. Handle expenses and data administration.
13. Resolve invoice queries via phone and email.
14. Participate in ad hoc projects as directed by the Financial Controller.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance role.
• Proficiency in IT software such as Excel and SAGE.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
