Overview

Finance AccountantHerbalife - Woodmead, South Africa

About the roleWe’re looking for a highly motivated Finance Accountant to join our EMEA Controllership team, supporting our operations across the Africa cluster, including Ghana. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key financial activities such as general ledger accounting, US GAAP and local statutory reporting, and act as the point of contact for finance-related matters in the region. This is a great opportunity to apply your analytical skills, regional finance knowledge, and process improvement mindset in a diverse, international environment.

You’ll collaborate closely with local stakeholders, Shared Services, and corporate teams to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with internal and external requirements, and smooth delivery of financial operations.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and oversee accounting and reporting for Herbalife entities in the Africa cluster.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and delivered in line with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with local business teams, auditors, and tax advisors to support regulatory compliance.
  • Work with internal teams to meet monthly and annual reporting deadlines.
  • Support and participate in review meetings, flag performance issues, and propose solutions.
  • Review inventory and cost-related calculations with relevant CoE teams.
  • Provide tax certificates and other support to local distributors.
  • Support finance and accounting operations in Ghana as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the team, assisting others and sharing best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Our requirements:

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional (or near) accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • 2-3 years of experience in international finance/accounting roles.
  • Familiarity with Shared Services or outsourcing environments.
  • Knowledge of local African GAAPs and tax regulations is a plus.
  • Strong command of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid MS Office knowledge.
  • Oracle (or similar ERP) experience – minimum 2 years.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders across levels.
  • Process improvement mindset and ability to lead initiatives.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or mentoring role is a plus.
