We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Filing Clerk at our client in the automotive industry.

Job Description
  • Sorts employees’ files
  • Builds a file record template to record all files that are to be archived with Metrofile
  • Coordinates with Metrofile to collect all files to be archived on-site
  • Organizes documents
  • Makes copies of paperwork and distributes as needed
  • Retrieves data and files for other departments and personnel
  • Uses alphabetical and numerical systems to organize papers
  • Checks paperwork, digital forms, and files, updating or correcting documentation as needed
  • Updates filing systems and develops new filing, organizational, and storage systems as required
  • Creates new files and provides information on records and reports
  • Requests boxes from Metrofile
  • Ensures all requested boxes are returned in the same order within a week
  • Secures and protects the privacy of documents
  • Scans paper documents, verifying clarity and legibility
  • Processes requests for files and data
  • Records borrowing and returning of documents
  • Monitors filing materials and office supplies, working with vendors to secure needed supplies or reporting needs to the purchasing officer
  • Discards documents following official procedures when required
  • Transcribes audio and video content
  • Operates office equipment
  • Identifies ways to improve filing systems and designs forms and templates for data entry
  • Performs data entry tasks
  • Collaborates with warehouse personnel or outside storage vendors for safe archiving of documents
  • Checks and corrects documentation and placement of previously filed documents
Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic office and administrative software such as MS Office
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Previous clerical experience (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience with file-keeping software or cloud storage is a plus
  • Strong input skills and knowledge
