Job description

FIELD VISUAL MERCHANDISER (JHB AREA)

We are seeking a talented and creative Regional Visual Merchandiser with a great eye for detail to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of VMs in a region to deliver the creative vision of the VM brand lead. This will include setting up amazing window displays, in-store displays as well as visual merchandising.

What we would like from You:
  1. Participate in all national model stores and ensure all learnings are shared with teams in your region.
  2. Lead, plan and set-up regional model stores with operations manager.
  3. Lead, plan and set-up regional workshops.
  4. Lead, plan and set-up store refurbs and store openings with operations manager.
  5. Lead, plan and set-up regional sales.
  6. Lead, plan and set-up marketing events in stores.
  7. Support the installation of all window campaigns.
  8. Manage team schedules, roll-out schedules.
  9. Manage all inventory on VM equipment and store equipment in region.
  10. Maintain strong product knowledge.
  11. Seasonal mapping of sales floors to support all VM / Merch shifts.
  12. Guide store VMs on all launches and ensure that all windows, mannequins and walls are dressed as per the VM guide, taking into consideration store size and product sell-throughs.
  13. Ensure all product or promo launches happen on time.
  14. Frequent store visits in your region with VM and store manager.
  15. Ensuring VM principles are maintained from window displays, in-store displays and sales floor.
  16. Ensure stores are always ready for the consumer, mystery shoppers and/or HO visits.
  17. Give feedback on IAudit reports (replenishment, visual standards, layouts, windows, etc.)
  18. Document all season launches and present back to the VM apparel/living lead.
  19. Document all store refurbs/openings and present back to the VM Brand Lead.
  20. Work closely and build strong relationships with key department managers.
Requirements:
  1. Matric / Grade 12, relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous.
  2. 5+ years retail experience as a VM with the ability to follow brand guidelines and understand the basics of Visual merchandising.
  3. 3+ years managing a regional area as a VM.
  4. Creative, commercially aware and confident decision maker, communicating with impact across all levels.
  5. Ability to work independently as well as part of the broader team.
  6. Ability to work well with change, being able to quickly adapt and work with pace.
  7. Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, always acting with integrity.
  8. Strong organization and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  9. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with ease.
  10. Passionate about trends in Apparel as well as Homeware.
  11. Proficient in using merchandising tools and techniques, including knowledge of power tools.
  12. Microsoft Office efficient.
  13. Willing to travel in region with your own car and a valid car license.
  14. Willing to travel nationally when needed.
  15. Flexible to work alternate hours when needed.
